51 students from 29 nations of the world took part in the 9th Green.Building.Solutions. Summer University from August 21st to 10th 2019. Three intensive weeks, the students and young professionals, mainly from architecture and engineering, dealt with the topics of ecological building, sustainable planning, renewable energies and energy efficiency. This is the highest number of participants that the academic course has had since its beginning of 2011. The participants came from very different nations, including Portugal, France, Argentina, Brazil, Chad, Czech Republic, India, Ethiopia, Denmark, Switzerland, and Ukraine. This year, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany and Portugal were the nations with the strongest representation – with four participants from each of these countries.

As part of the Summer University, which is organized by the OeAD-Housing Office jointly with the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences and the Vienna University of Technology, the students not only visited numerous best practice buildings in and around Vienna, but also made an educational excursion to the lakeside town of Aspern, the Sonnwendviertel and the Danube University in Krems into a light laboratory – which is a highlight each year.
