We are proud to share with you the results of the GBS 2020 project work about the Otto-Wagner-Areal in Vienna! During the Green.Building.Solutions. (GBS) Summer University, participants not only get the chance to gain expert knowledge from Austria’s leading architects and planners. They also get to put theory into practice in the final project work, dealing with the real-life case to turn Viennese historic Otto-Wagner-Areal into a Positive Energy University Campus! Please find below the freshly published digital booklet showcasing the inspiring work of our GBS 2020 alumni:

Moreover, one alumni group of GBS 2020 will even present their design project in the SBE21 Conference, taking place in April in Italy. For this globally unique climate neutral renovation project, students had to take into account not only criteria of EnergyPLUS, but also aspects of heritage protection – a challenge well mastered by 28 students collaborating over 9 different time zones!

We are also delighted to announce OeAD student housing has been part of the project consortium for the feasibility study of this project, published recently here (German only)[1].

The Otter-Wagner-Areal was also part of GBS’ first and very successful Expert Talk on Plus Energy Districts with speakers Simon Schneider and Günter Lang. Missed it? You can watch the recording here.

You are a looking for an exciting academic online adventure, where you can show your creative and planning skills in a team of students from all over the world?
