Everyone is needed to tackle the growing challenges presented by climate change. That is why, in close collaboration with our partners, we now enable an even broader access to the hands-on knowledge provided within our Summer Universities hosted in Vienna, Austria.

Starting today, we are offering outstanding and highly qualified applicants from low-income economies* the chance to participate in a life changing online learning experience, entirely free of charge for the participant, all tuition costs and program fees will be covered by our new Empowerment Scholarship Program!

Empowerment Scholarships are awarded based on eligible applications and qualification. The requirements for applicants are:
 - A very good command of English
 - Motivation and interest in the topics
 - Reliable internet connection of the course of the three weeks
 - Studies in architecture, engineering, planning or other relevant fields or demonstrated experience in these areas (only for GBS)

Applications are assessed on an ongoing basis and will get notified on their status within 2-3 days after applying. During the application process, please make sure to enter the scholarship reference "empowerment scholarship" directly in the application form.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to exchange with international experts and fellow like-minded changemakers, taking the next step in your academic or professional career. The deadline to apply for these scholarships is 1st June 2021 or until all 10 scholarships have been awarded.

Important note:

The Empowerment Scholarships are limited and intended exclusively for highly qualified applicants for whom it would be otherwise impossible to participate in our Summer Universities, based on the principles of fairness and equal opportunity.

Additionally to our merit based assessment, applicants must provide a detailed motivation statement about their situation during the application process, and being a national, or living in the listed countries, does not guarantee in any way a participation in the program through an Empowerment Scholarship.

Interested applicants who wish to secure their spot in either GBS or AEMS, without having to go through the highly competitive Empowerment Scholarship selection process, are invited to apply through our standard scholarship program. Successful recipients of standard scholarships also receive the added benefit of staying at least 2 weeks in Vienna free of charge, living in one of our highly efficient student accommodation during Summer 2021 or 2022.

All Empowerment Scholarships will be processed in batches and will be awarded based on merit and motivation on a weekly basis.
