COVID-19 Update (31.03.2020)
Deadline for scholarship application extended!
Due to the current situation, the application deadline for scholarships for the Alternative Economic and Monetary Systems and Green.Building.Solutions. Summer Universities has been extended to 30 April, 2020.
Considering the global and national developments of COVID-19, right now there is no final decision possible about holding the international summer universities in Vienna in July and August. We are currently busy preparing for the programs to take place as planned from 20 July to 7 August, 2020 (AEMS) and 18 July to 9 August, 2020 (GBS). However, if this is not possible, we will take into account to offer them as online courses alternatively. Further information will be provided at the beginning of May.
For those who have already have applied: the selection and nomination processes for scholarships are on hold at the moment. We will let you know at the end of April (GBS) / at the beginning of May (AEMS), if you are nominated for a scholarship. However, we will do our best, to inform you as early as possible.
For those who have been already selected to take part and who have paid already: if the summer schools are cancelled, the fee will be fully refunded. Also we recommend not booking your flights yet.
In the meantime, we prepare everything that is necessary to have a smooth start of the summer schools in July.
We hope you stay well. Take care!
Carina and Barbara for the whole AEMS and GBS team
You certainly have followed the media coverage of the last days and weeks about the corona virus (COVID-19). We are also monitoring the situation very closely and are in constant communication with authorities, ministries and local partners. The situation in Austria is currently changing on a daily basis, and it is difficult to assess the development for the coming weeks and months. The health of everyone is currently our main concern and so we are very attentive to the health risks and our duty of care.
At the same time, we are convinced that, especially now, in times of climate change and a possible economic and globalisation crisis, we urgently need to take care of our future and rethink our economic and monetary system and also ensure sustainability in building and urban planning.
We therefore are currently preparing to hold the summer school as planned from 20 July to 7 August, 2020 (AEMS) and 18 July to 09 August, 2020 (GBS).
However, in any case we have to cancel the summer universities you will get your paid participation fee back.
We will keep you up-to-date. If you have time to read in the meantime find some book recommendations from our CEO Günther Jedliczka below. Here you can also find a more extensive list of articles and books recommended for AEMS students.
Thank you for your understanding and stay healthy!
